Surface Preparation Clean and deoxidize the surface with Alumiprep 33. After cleaning, the metal must be rinsed with water. Inadequate rinsing may result in a surface condition that will cause corrosion of the finished part.
No mixing or dilution required
Application Instructions Wear rubber gloves, aprons, and goggles to avoid contact with solution. Work in a well ventilated area. Ideally, Alodine 1201 is applied while surface is still wet from the rinse of Alumiprep 33. Selecting the size of the area to be treated at one time depends on the method of application, condition of the metal surface, method in which the surface was cleaned, temperature, and part configuration. Do not allow Alodine 1201 to dry on the metal surface. With brush application, the surface should be re-wet with 1201 several times during the treatment time. If drying does occur, re-wet with Alodine 1201 prior to water rinsing.
